The lecture will be held in German.

Venue: IPU Berlin, Stromstraße 2, 10555 Berlin, Lecture Hall 1 (3rd floor)

The event is open to the public. No registration is required to attend in person. Registration is only required for online participation.

Christian Felber is a book author, university lecturer, initiator of the "Economy for the Common Good" and the "Cooperative for the Common Good", Austria.

Abstract of the lecture:

The idea of the Economy for the Common Good (ECG) is an ethical market economy that is not based on the pursuit of profit and competition, but on the pursuit of the common good and cooperation. Success is not primarily measured by financial indicators, but by the common good product (economics), the common good balance sheet (business management) and a common good audit (finance) for investments. Inequality should be moderately limited and business should only be conducted within the ecological limits of the planet. The aim is to reconcile the impact of markets with basic humanist and democratic values. The ECG started in Austria in 2010 and has since spread to over 30 countries. Any person, company, municipality or city can actively participate in the international movement.

The Erich Fromm Center for Humanistic Ethics, Leadership and Consulting will strengthen the focus on research in the field of work and organizational psychology and contribute to a transfer of Fromm's approach for important and system-relevant issues in society and business. This will bring even more attention to how relevant Fromm's approach is for the practice of leadership and consulting based on humanistic ethics. At the same time, the theoretical development of approaches in this area and the utilization of these approaches by decision-makers will be promoted. The basis for this are publications on the systematic use of Fromm's approach for leadership, consulting and organizational development and the development of practical tools based on this
