On the occasion of Erich Fromm’s 125th birthday (March 23), we would like to invite you to a German-language anniversary event at IPU Berlin, which will take place on April 9, 2025.

The event will feature a lecture by publicist Roger de Weck, followed by a panel discussion on the topic:
“Power and the Public Sphere, Media Criticism, and the Humanism of Erich Fromm.”

Roger de Weck recently published the book “Das Prinzip Trotzdem – Warum wir den Journalismus vor den Medien retten müssen” (The Principle of Nevertheless – Why We Must Save Journalism from the Media).

For the panel discussion, we are pleased to welcome:

• Roger de Weck, publicist
• Lukas Meisner, sociologist and author of “Medienkritik ist links. Warum wir eine medienkritische Linke brauchen” (Media Criticism is Left-Wing: Why We Need a Media-Critical Left), published in 2023
• Norbert Copray, philosopher and publicist
